Halloween in Spring time part I...

We have officially been living in our own place for 2 weeks now. Still, no internet. Right now I am sitting in my aunts kitchen on a beautiful sunny Saturday morning while Matt is doing some tile work for them. Not long till baby arrives, less than 2 months. WOW! So soon, I can't wait to meet the little guy. So let me get up-to-date with what's been happening for us.
Matt is still doing tile - thankfully. He starts at 7:30 every morning which is a real stretch for him as he is not a morning person at all. Depending on the job, he gets home between 4 and 5:30 which is just early enough that when it's a warm day we can head on down to the beach.

So this is Mount Martha beach. It's beautiful, very quiet - most evenings we'll see families walking their dogs or bringing their little ones down for a walk on the beach. There are boat sheds that line the beach, people have bbqs in them, couches, music playing, they store their water toys - prices of these boat sheds start around the $60,000 mark.

My little sister Nicola came over for dinner and we went for a walk on the beach after.

With the baby boys arrival coming up I've been trying to get his room as organised as possible. Cassie, Nicola and my cousin Zendaria all came over to help me unpack. They loved unpacking the baby clothes and looking at them. I have them organised by size - I just haven't had a chance to wash any of it yet but I'll get onto that this week.

This is his room so far. I was given all of the furniture and I bought the cute lanterns handing over his window that have little grey dinosaurs on them.

I spent 50cents on the frames which Nicola painted for me and I printed out the silhouettes from the internet. I love this bassinet - I am going to put some blue ribbon around the layers of skirting. My auntie Nat bought me the bassinet.

This crib was given to me by a family in my mums ward.
Cas and I made bumpers for our cribs. Mines not done yet - I haven't made the fitted sheet yet or the skirting but I LOVE the whales on the fabric and the sheet has little navy sail boats.

So in addition to sewing and painting and printing things for his room, I have also been working on sanding some furniture pieces and painting them as well, and that should all be done this week. I find it's much easier to get up with Matt around 6am and work on getting him off to work, cleaning the house and working on my projects earlier in the day - because a little ways into the day my feet swell up so much and having horribly flat feet with the extra weight is not a comfortable feeling at all.

I had an appointment at the radiologist to have an ultrasound and see if I was able to have a natural delivery because of the placement of the placenta - and thankfully everything is fine and I can go ahead with a natural delivery. My mum came with me to the ultrasound and we were able to see his perfectly shaped head, lips, nose. I was told that he has really long legs and chubby little hands. And there was no denying he is definitely a boy! And he already weighs 4lbs meaning that he should arrive weighing between 7 - 8lbs.
I have my next appointment on the 9th at the midwife clinic and my sister is throwing me a babyshower on the 12th of November, so - lots to look forward to.

Matt and I hosted a pumpkin carving dinner with my family at our home. I went to the local grocery store to buy some carving pumpkins - which they have only started getting into the supermarkets recently. Well they had them in the fresh produce section and they had about 8 to choose from. Not many at all because no one really buys them here. So I chose 4 and took them to the check-out with the rest of my groceries. One of them scanned in at FIFTEEN dollars each!!! Yep!  $4 a kilo. So I just got 2 and the boys carved them while I showed the girls how to make rice krispy treats and roasted pumpkin seeds.
Matt cut his pumpkin open and was cleaning it out and my family couldn't believe it was hollow, they were amazed - apparently last year they bought regular pumpkins that are not hollow and spent hours hollowing them out so that they could carve them... THAT is dedication!!!

And here is the end result.

Hopefully it won't be as long before my next update. Now that we're organised I should have more time to update my blog of our adventures...
