Well it's been 8 weeks this Sunday since Jacksen joined our family. There are so many special moments and time really does fly.
He's at:
6.5 kilos / 14lbs 2.5 oz
60.5 cm / 23.8 inches
- Most of the 8 weeks I have spent held hostage by my son and sofa. I follow Matt around like a little puppy when he gets home, it's nice to talk to an adult after being home with my lil' buddy all day.
- Jacksen has grown and grown and is now in the 97 percentile for weight and height, and super strong apparently. My Dad is around the 6'3" mark so he might have the Wilson height.
- My house has been a disaster (it has it's moments)
- My Sister had her baby - 100% natural birth, no drugs, complete opposite of mine {jealous}. Gorgeous Alaya Saulala Angelo Toangatu, for those who don't know my sisters boyfriend passed away in a car accident before either of them knew she was pregnant.
- Barely get much sleep - I have been lucky enough to have him sleep for a few nights at 5 or 6 hours and there was one amazing night he slept for 8. Of course I was waking up to feed him and wonder why I was the only one up. Usually it's every 3 hours though.
- Matt has spent most mornings getting up at 5:30 am as they've been working on jobs about an hour away and have to avoid peak hour city traffic {yuk!}
- Had my 6 week check up, everything seems to be healing well. And just because I'm willing to tell you that I lost 18 kgs/39 lbs the first week after pregnancy, doesn't mean I'm willing to tell you what I weighed right before the birth! Still not to lift anything heavy... Besides my huge son... Will be getting more blood work done to check on my anemia and vitamin D deficiency.
- Jacksen has had his first set of vaccinations, he put me to shame. HUGE needles, even for an adult. And let me tell you the nurse did not muck around, she even pulled the needles back before slamming them into his little chicken drumstick thigh. I thought it was going to come out the other side. But he only fussed while it was in there, and LOVED the oral medication. This kid will eat anything...
So here are some pictures of the last 8 weeks... {and you thought you'd seen them all on fb!}
